Heritage Auction Galleries Heritage hosts watch auctions a few times a year. They provide a great site to preview their watches and provide a complete description of each item. |
How to Value Your Watch* |
There are many factors that an appraiser uses to determine the value of watches. To get important additional information on how to grade or how an appraiser evaluates a piece please see this excellent description and downloadable file from Antiquorum: Grading System. Antiquorum also has a quick reference guide with the essential information required to understand their grading method. Time Zone also references another grading system you’ll see in use based on an overall description of watch condition. As you take a careful look at what you have and what you think its worth, be objective in your own appraisal; this will help set your expectations properly. Below is a list of some of the more visited auction houses that deal extensively in both pocket and wrist watches. Our suggestion is to visit them to determine if they are selling or have recently sold watches similar to the ones you may have an interest. Also listed is a current list of upcoming and recently closed auctions. Have fun and good luck! |
